Moscow International Travel & Tourism Exhibition
The MITT2001 was held in the vast Krasnaya Presnaya Exhibition Complex at the end of March(28-31).
This was the 8th time that this event has taken place and exhibitors and visitors both appeared pleased with the results. Over 100 Countries and Regions participated at this event including new delegations from Belgium, Chile, Indonesia, Jordan and South Africa.
The exhibition was opened by a most distinguished number of VIP guests that included Mr. Klebanov, Vice Premier of the Russian Federation; Mr. Poltavchenko, Presidential Representative; Mr. Luzhkov, Mayor of Moscow and many other important guests.
The high profile International delegation included Mr. Mumcu, Minister of Tourism for Turkey; Mr. Rollandis, Minister of Commerce & Tourism of Cyprus; Mr. Tsibukh the Head of the Ukraine State Committee for Tourism and a host of Ambassadors and Ministerial officials representing 50 countries world-wide.
"The number of both Russian and International distinguished VIP guests further indicates the importance of this event and the continuing growth of the Russian Tourism Industry"
The official statistics from the event also indicated increased. Over 2,000 Companies were Represented, registered visitors were in excess of 65,000 in the first 3-days with an estimate of an additional 35,000 non-registered visitors.
