MITF2001 Exhibition, Moscow
In May the MITF Exhibition was held for the first time in Moscow.
This exhibition is part of the Moscow Tourism Development Program to the year 2010 and was initiated by the Committee for Tourism of the Moscow City Government.
This exhibition was held in the recently opened and spectacular Stary Gostiny Dvor facility and as the photograph shows it is an impressive location for an exhibition. Located just meters away from Red Square this exhibition venue features an amazing glass roof.
The total space available in the complex is 12,000 sqm and 3,000 sqm was occupied with the exhibitors stands. Over 300 organisations participated at the 4 day event including Representatives from 22 countries and 32 regions of Russia. Over 200 Travel Companies exhibited and 33 hotels.
It is estimated that at least 20,000 visitors attended the event and that at least 15,000 were Tourism professionals.
Thanks to the location the exhibition enjoyed a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere which was complemented with many cheerful musical performances and space for meetings.
A full programme of Conferences was also arranged during the exhibition. No date has been announced for 2002 but this exhibition will certainly become a fixture in the future.
