Universal Tourism Alliance
Recognising the need for professional co-operation and full use of experience and resources, 5 pioneers in the Russian speaking markets have combined together to create the Universal Tourism Alliance (UTA). Boasting more than 70 years combined experience on these markets reaction to the Alliance has been strong and positive.
"We are all professionals in our own countries and have both specialised in and greatly assisted the emerging Russian speaking Travel Markets. As pioneers we enjoyed an early start and gave great personal assistance and attention to our clients. As the market continued to develop we experienced difficulties in maintaining our positions as National Tourism Boards moved in bring our competitors with them" quoted Mr. John Debono, Director of Triton Group, Malta.

"The early days were wild and adventurous, new arrivals on this market cannot believe some of the situations and conditions that we have all experienced".
The idea to form an Alliance was brought to fruition in Summer 2001 when the 5 founding members met in Athens and signed their Charter under the auspicious backdrop of the Parthenon.

'Travelling the Russian Exhibition circuit since 1992 we have become friends and recognise the same challenges that we are facing. The opportunities presented by the Alliance are superb enabling us to combine our experience and contacts' - Kim Waddoup from Austria International Travel Service.
The Universal Tourism Alliance specifically choose the autumn Kiev Exhibition for their debut. The deep, personal friendship that we all so enjoy in Ukraine lead us to the decision to make our first combined appearance in Kiev'. At a superb dinner hosted by Jason Travels, Ministers, tourism leaders, journalists and many friends gave us such a warming reception. 'In these troubled times co-operation is essential to enable us to promote peace through our tourism efforts'
The combined stands, under the UTA banner were the first encounter with many friend and colleagues. All were impressed with the general appearance, the smart logo and the welcome that was to be found. Combined stands are an important part of our integral plan. A brochure has also been published and many more features are planned.
'The Universal Tourism Alliance will be looking for new partners. All applicants will be carefully researched to ensure that they comply with the Standards of Integrity established by the Alliance. We are looking for steady and controlled growth to ensure that we can maintain our principals' - John Debono, current President.
