Co-Operation amongst professionals

UTA partners analyse the balance after their first year together

Regular exhibition visitors to Russia and the CIS will have noted the colourful, energetic and busy stand of the Universal Tourism Alliance. Their rather unique 'Foot' logo initially created some interesting comments but now both International and Russian professionals have fully recognised the importance of this alliance.

was always packed

"At our first exhibitions one year ago these was some scepticism and even some rather derogatory comments especially from competitors. However when you create a new image on a stand that is occupied by 5 of the Travel Companies that pioneered tourism from Russia since 1992 you get a lot of interest. Scepticism very quickly changed to jealousy as our 'later arriving' colleagues noticed the enormous synergy created by combining the 5 industry leaders" UTA President John Debono.

Formed in Summer 2000 the founding members of UTA are Austria International Travel Service from Austria, Ion Tours from Greece, Jason Travel from Czech Republic, Jason Travel from Slovakia and Triton Services Ltd from Malta.

"With a strategic market plan from September to August we were able to satisfy the specific seasonal requirements of our members. In our first year we participated together at 14 major tourism events".

"Our stand designs have become easily recognisable and the effectiveness of the exhibitions has almost doubled by the enormous interest that we create by offering Travel Arrangements to 5 different countries by 5 top professional companies"

"It was important at the beginning to see how we could all work together. Of course we were well acquainted! All of us had been participating at the Russian exhibition since they came into existence to assist travel companies like ourselves who were already firmly established".

"The respect that we have received from the media, the interest from the Travel Trade and the tremendous synergy amongst our members has made our first year most successful"

"Our individual budgets were being strained by the high prices being charged by the Exhibition organisers and none of us wished to participate on National stands with our jealous competitors leaning over our shoulders listening to our conversations and trying to steal our established clients by offering lower prices! So we created UTA with more than 80 years of combined experience of working in Russia and throughout the CIS Countries".

In their next marketing year UTA Members will be participating at more than 20 events with the distinctive UTA stand design and decoration.

"UTA is now ready to invite more members to join us. We do have strong criteria as we offer a superb opportunity to work with fellow professionals both at the exhibitions and at UTA events throughout the year"

"So if you are a professional with many years experience in working with the Russian speaking markets, if you a tired of paying high prices for the prestige of your own stands and if you are frustrated at the prospect of participating on a National stand or Workshop, contact us. We will carefully consider applications for new members to assist us in attaining our goal of UTA members from each country of the world"

The Universal Tourism Alliance can be contacted though their website www.goUTA.com, through any of their members or on the UTA stands at the exhibitions.
