Universal Tourism Alliance announces 4 new members

At their annual meeting, this year in Prague, the Universal Tourism Alliance, Mr. John Debono announced that 4 new members had joined this unique alliance.

"UTA was formed to give pioneers on the Russian travel markets a platform and an opportunity to consolidate in the face of stronger competition. We all worked so hard at the start to encourage Russian speaking travel companies to open and to offer the opportunities of International travel. The market expanded rapidly and despite our substantial investments we found ourselves under growing competition from National Tourism Offices bringing more and more companies into the market" - John Debono

"UTA has existed successfully with it's 5 founding members for two years and now it is time for expansion. We are delighted to welcome 4 professionals on the Russian and CIS markets to join our special organisation. We are certain that their input and experience will enable UTA to grow" - Debono

The four new members of the Universal Tourism Alliance are:- Ms. Tanya Pohjola, from Nordic Holiday Services, Finland; Dr. Franco Vitali, from Larus Viaggi, Italy and Mr. Stefan Tonchev from Orient Travel, Bulgaria and Mr. Phil Caldwell from Go West, Great Britain

"Last year Members participated at more than 20 events in Russia and the CIS on Universal Tourism Alliance stands. This is extremely effective as we are able to introduce our agents to our UTA colleagues creating a much stronger partnership. The cost-efficient UTA stand enables us to participate effectively at so many events and our members are delighted with the results" - Debono

"With the introduction of 4 new members UTA is now a much stronger organisation. We are able to discuss many important issues amongst our members and receive input on many subjects including visas and agents that are slow to pay. We are each highly respected in the market for the roles that we played back in the early 1990s and I am delighted with the response from the Russian speaking travel companies to our organisation"

The founding members of the Universal Tourism Alliance are, Mr. Kim Waddoup from Austria International Travel Service, Austria; Ms. Sanija Chalili, Jason Travel, Czech Republic, Mr. Yiannis Politis, Ion Tours, Greece, Mr. John Debono, Triton Services, Malta and Mr. Peter Kruty Jason Travel Slovakia.
