Transaero

Transaero doubled it's passenger numbers to 859,500 last year and plans to carry over 1.4 million passengers this year. New destinations under consideration include Manchester, Edinburgh, Montreal, Chicago, Cuba, Singapore, Mexico and Brazil.

Transaero also reported a fivefold increase in its net profit for 2003. Its net income grew to RUR59.923m (about $2m). According to Russian Accounting Standards, revenues increased 80 percent to RUR4.397bn (about $154m). In 2003, Transaero carried a total of 859,500 people, which was 120 percent higher compared to 2002. The total passenger traffic increased 170 percent. Transaero's fleet currently consists of six Boeing-767 planes and five Boeing-737 aircraft.

Sibir

Sibir announces that it intends to use recently acquired Airbus A-310 planes on certain routes this year. Part of their summer charter capacity will now be carried out using these 200 passenger capacity planes. A-310 planes will be used on the Novosibirsk-Barcelona route, on regular flights to Germany and on the Irkutsk-Niigata route starting on July 7th.

Additional news from the airline includes the announcement of a regular flight from Novosibirsk to Ho Chi Minh and charters from Omsk, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo and Barnaul to Antalia. Additionally the Novosibirsk to Sochi flight will now operate daily.

SN Brussels Airlines

SN Brussels Airlines has announced direct regular flights from Brussels to Moscow and St. Petersburg. The Moscow flights will operate 5 times a week and St. Petersburg 2 times a week. SN Brussels Ailines is hoping to attract more passengers from Russia using its expanding network from Brussels.
