"Russian Winter" goes to London
Ken Livingston the mayor of London will personally open the festival "Russian Winter" on 15th January, 2005 in Trafalgar Square. During his late visit to Moscow in September the Mayor of London has mentioned that London authorities will promote the event extensively and expecting more than 10,000 visitors. "The festival will help the British to learn more about Russia. Moscow "deserves" tourists from all over the world no less than London or Paris", said the mayor. The festival will take place in London from 14 to 15 January. In the main city Square a skating ring and will be erected and special stage for shows and circus performances. Additionally, Trafalgar Square will be decorated with ice sculptures and in the evening will start lighting laser show of Russian winter sceneries. Visitors will be able to treat themselves with traditional Russian food. Satellite communication session with Red Square in Moscow is scheduled as well.
